The Contrast

A functional house with essential furnishings, clean lines emphasized by a honey-colored flamed oak floor.

We intervened by redesigning the entrance with an overhead door between the living and sleeping areas and by demolishing the kitchen wall, thus creating an open space that can be closed with a transparent retractable sliding door if needed; the doors are from Tre-P. The cocoa-colored kitchen can be glimpsed from the window, with an orange tone from Fritz Hansen chairs made of recycled plastic, the only colorful touch in the room; the kitchen is furnished with products from Euromobil.

The ladder

The idea was to make everything smoother and brighter than in the previous layout and to connect the main floor with the attic by a staircase where the masonry was carefully taken up, creating shutters between the plaster and the wood of the steps, which were made of solid oak jigs. To emphasize the materiality of the wood, plaster marker lights were recessed into the wall with subtle light cuts. The railing, made to design by a local craftsman, has a light impact that harmonizes with the context.

The Lightness

The attic upper floor has a view of the surrounding hills, the natural light coming in through the window is intense and filters through the stairwell to the floor below. The attic includes a living room, small study, laundry area and fitness corner; the internal divisions will be created with the furniture because the work is not yet completed.

On the ground floor, the two bathrooms in the sleeping area follow the minimalist style desired by the owners with resin on the walls and synthetic agglomerate floors; the fixtures and furniture are by Antonio Lupi.
